Assessments & Testing

MAP Testing (Measure of Academic Progress)

We are excited and pleased to announce that the Diocese of Savannah has adopted a NEW standardized test. MAP Growth is designed to assess student academic progress. Blessed Sacrament students in Kindergarten – 8th grade recently took this computer-adaptive test over a span of three weeks using different types of technology. The MAP growth test adjusts to the student’s academic level, engaging them in questions that are challenging. This is a different kind of test in many ways and we are excited to gain the data to help teachers reach all types of learners. The test sessions will be administered three times a year: September, January and April/May.

Teachers will then be able to monitor growth and create goals for students in identified instruction as the school year progresses, not waiting until May to see the results. As the Diocese of Savannah and Blessed Sacrament learn more about MAP Growth and how to use the data we will share the information with parents, and together, we can help each child reach their potential, ultimately becoming the best-version-of-themselves!
