National Junior Honor Society

In 1967 the National Junior Honor Society was formed at Blessed Sacrament School to complement and encourage high scholastic ideals in the students as well as ideals of leadership, character, service, and citizenship. Induction takes place during Catholic Schools Week each year and is open to members of the seventh and eighth grades.

To be eligible for membership as a seventh grader, a student must have an 86 in every subject for grade six and the first two quarters of grade seven.

Student Council

In 1984 Blessed Sacrament School established a student council. Its purpose is to promote the general welfare of the school by coordinating school activities and acting as a liaison between the staff and the students. The student body elects student council officers each year. The elected membership represents each class in second through eighth grade. The student council meets on a monthly basis.

Safety Patrol

Students in grades six through eight are eligible to participate in the school's safety patrol. Annual selection is based on academic performance, conduct, and attendance. The safety patrols perform their duties daily and meet on a monthly basis. They work under the supervision of teachers to monitor student safety.

St. Joseph’s/Candler Teen Angels

Blessed Sacrament is proud to be first outpost of St. Joseph’s/Candler’s Angels of Mercy Teen Angel program – a community volunteer/education initiative that engages youth and promotes public service through volunteerism.

Therefore, to further enhance  our Christian formation, students in grades six through eight are required to share their gifts through service for others according to the Teen Angel curriculum.

Scouting

Blessed Sacrament School sponsors many scout troops.

Girl Scouts:

There are currently four Girl Scout troops - Daisy (kindergarten and first grades), Brownies (second and third grades), Juniors (fourth and fifth grades), and Cadets (sixth and seventh grades).

Boy Scouts:

There is a very active Boy Scout troop as well.  They include the four Cub Scout levels: Tiger (first grade), Wolf (second grade), Bear (third grade),  Webelo (fourth and fifth), and Boys Scouts (sixth through twelfth).
