Family Involvement / Willingness To Serve
Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is more than a mere physical facility. It is a congregation of many diverse people with one single purpose: to advance the academic and religious education of our children. It is a school that prides itself on its parental, family and community involvement, and offers a number of school programs, activities, events and other opportunities to serve that purpose.

Accelerated Reader – assists with AR reward event; assists students in the classroom with AR tests.
Athletics – coach, work the scoreboard, or assist with concessions. Join the Booster Club that generates funds to support the athletic program or join the athletic committee that formulates athletic policies for administrative approach.
Archives / Historian – assist with taking pictures at various events (school, sports, etc.); Also, scrapbooking talents and/or a desire to look back at the rich history of BSS through archiving past pictures.
Auction – Live and Silent auction assistance; help with set-up, clean up, decorations, prepare food and have some good old fashion fun.
Bazaar – Assist with cooking a scrumptious dinner, help set up games, man a booth, or clean up at the end of all the fun.
Bulletin Boards – Assists in creating/putting up bulletin board designs as needed.
Catholic Schools Week – Help prepare and serve for the Teacher of the Year Award and Honor Society Inductees Reception and Distinguished graduate Reception. Organize nice notes to the teachers.
Computer Lab Assistants – Assist the computer teacher in working with students. Training will be provided.
Easy Money – Sort Box Tops and Tyson labels. Prepare them for shipping. Initate easy fund raising ideas; organize and make contacts with companies (such as Box Tops, Target, Publix, Kroger, Capri Suns, etc.)
Facilities – Do you have a background in construction? Would you consider assisting on a painting project? Are you willing to spruce up a classroom to help prepare for a special event? Sign up for the area that best utilizes your talents.
Field Day – Chair event working closely with the PE teacher; Create exciting events; Set-up, man stations and help clean-up after the fun.
Fresh Outlook – Promotes healthy choices to improve the health and wellness of BSS children during school as well as supporting families at home. Includes facilitating activities such as: Walk to School Day, Fun Run and Farm Box.
Fundraisers- Auction, Bazaar, Easy Money, Garage Sale, Golf and Tennis Tournaments, Grant Writer, and Mulberry. (See each individual descriptions).
Garage Sale – Help out with organizing, pricing or selling the goodies donated
Golf Tournament/ Tennis Tournament – Assist with the planning and preparation of an adult golf and tennis tournament.
Grant Writer - Research and find applicable grants; put together necessary application withteh help of BSS staff.
Grandparents Day – Come and help celebrate grandparents by preparing treats, set-up/clean-up and serving refreshments.
Grounds- Help keep our school/church grounds looking great; N plant/greenery knowledge necessary – just a desire to enjoy working outdoors for the day.
Health Screening – Assist with vision, hearing and scoliosis screenings on students; Medical background helpful, but not required.
Honor Roll Breakfast – Assist with decorating and then preparing and serving the breakfast for the Honor Roll honorees.
Hospitality – LOTS OF HELP NEEDED! Assist in set-up/clean up, food preparation, serving of meals/refreshments for the various school receptions.
Kindergarten / Pre- Kindergarten Round-Up – Assist with open house by preparing and serving refreshments.
Light The Night – Home and School sponsored mission that raises funds to research/cure Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma.
Linens – Assist in organizing linens (transporting to / from cleaners)
Lunchroom Assistants – Assist in serving lunch weekly (flexible with your schedule).
Mulberry Fundraiser – Assist with raising money through sales of quality gift items (Organization and promotion).
New families / Mentor Program – Welcome committee for new school families – mentor a new family and share with them our Irish Spirit! You will make a difference in their lives.
Room Mothers – Organize two class parties, field trips, Auction Class Basket, Bazaar duties and schedule weekly envelope stuffing. Assist the classroom teacher with activities as needed.
School Directory – Assist in the publishing, printing and distribution of the annual school directory.
School Supplies / Book Store/ Spirit Store – Organize, assemble and distribute school supplies to each classroom.
Sunshine Committee – Help provide working lunches for the teachers and staff, along with a Welcome Back Breakfast and End of the Year Luncheon. Prepare food to be served, set-up/clean up, and or serve.
Uniforms – Help with used uniform sales twice a year and on conference days; Assist in maintaining donated used uniforms.
